HI FRIENDS! Thanks for stopping by the blog! We are beyond excited to show you the big reveal for #TheTonkaHouse kitchen! While it had all the right components before, the finishes certainly left something to be desired. Now she is a complete show-stopper and the heart of the home!!

Below you can see what this kitchen used to look like before we remodeled. The natural wood cabinetry left the space feeling bare and there was nowhere to rest your eyes. There used to be a microwave above the range which in the design world is a major eye sore! Overall, it was feeling lackluster and in desperate need of some color and variety!

We couldn’t wait to get our hands on the cabinets and countertops. We ripped out the upper cabinetry and replaced it with some new cabinets that extended all the way to the ceiling (this helps the room feel taller).

The kitchen was in need of a focal point so we ditched the tacky microwave and replaced it with a chimney style range hood from our friends over at Zephyr. It looks absolutely stunning against the marble backsplash, and it helps the room feel a little more open. As for countertops, we wanted to keep it bright and airy so we went with a white Cambria quartz.

For the center island, we opted for a navy finish. We love the contrast it brings to the space! Above the island, we added these adorable pendant lights — clear pendants are prefect for adding interest without taking away from the rest of the design.

We really like the look of this faucet because it has a sleek yet industrial appearance that adds a little something something to your not-always-so-glamorous dishwashing space.

In the dinette area, enameled all the trim white…and can we talk about that chandelier?!  This is now the cutest area to enjoy your morning breakfast and coffee! ALSO, anyone else jealous of that gorgeous lake view?!
